Katie Orndorff, the driving force behind KnockOut Pilates, discovered her passion for Pilates over a decade ago. After experiencing the transformative power of Pilates, Katie embarked on a journey to not only rehabilitate her body but also rediscover her connection to fitness and well-being.
With over a decade of experience in the Pilates realm, Katie holds certifications in Mat and Reformer Pilates, as well as Movement Principles. Her journey began twelve years ago, amidst a period where she felt disconnected from her body, and fitness had taken a back seat. Despite years of treadmill sessions and yo-yo dieting, she struggled to find balance and confidence in her own skin.
It wasn't until she stumbled upon Pilates that Katie found her path to holistic well-being. Initially intimidated by the practice, she took the leap into private lessons and was instantly captivated by the principles and passion exhibited by instructors and fellow practitioners. Through Pilates, Katie not only transformed her physical appearance and performance but also embraced a new way of living—one focused on mindfulness, control, and empowerment.
As a dedicated single mom, Katie's dream of sharing her love for Pilates with others simmered in the background. With the support of her family and friends, and as her son ventured off to college, Katie turned her dream into reality. She founded KnockOut Pilates—a sanctuary where individuals could experience personalized instruction, support, and encouragement in a judgment-free environment.
Katie's teaching philosophy revolves around the belief that Pilates is for everybody and every "body." She welcomes individuals from all walks of life, including young athletes, new mothers, mature adults, and those with little to no fitness experience. Through one-on-one sessions, Katie aims to empower her clients to embrace their bodies, achieve their fitness goals, and cultivate a deeper connection to themselves.
Whether you're a seasoned athlete or a complete novice, Katie invites you to join the Pilates movement at KnockOut Pilates. Discover the transformative power of Pilates and embark on a journey of self-discovery, strength, and vitality.
Pilates offers a multitude of benefits for both physical and mental well-being. Here are some of the key advantages:
Improved Core Strength: Pilates exercises primarily focus on strengthening the core muscles, including the abdominal, lower back, hips, and buttocks. A strong core is essential for good posture, balance, and overall stability.
Increased Flexibility: Pilates incorporates dynamic stretching exercises that help improve flexibility and joint mobility. This can enhance the range of motion and reduce the risk of injury during physical activities.
Better Posture: Pilates emphasizes proper alignment and body awareness, which can help correct postural imbalances and alleviate strain on the spine. As a result, participants often experience improved posture both during exercise and in everyday life.
Muscle Tone and Definition: By targeting various muscle groups through controlled movements, Pilates helps to tone and sculpt the body, creating long, lean muscles rather than bulk.
Improved Balance and Coordination: Pilates exercises involve a combination of strength, flexibility, and balance, which can enhance overall coordination and stability. This is particularly beneficial for older adults in reducing the risk of falls.
Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation: Pilates is often recommended as a form of rehabilitation for injuries, particularly those related to the spine or joints. Its focus on controlled movements and low-impact exercises can aid in recovery and prevent future injuries.
Stress Reduction: Like other forms of exercise, Pilates can help reduce stress levels by promoting relaxation, improving circulation, and releasing endorphins (the body's natural mood elevators).
Mind-Body Connection: Pilates encourages mindfulness and concentration by requiring participants to focus on precise movements and breath control. This can help reduce mental stress and increase overall mental clarity.
Increased Energy and Vitality: Regular practice of Pilates can boost energy levels and improve overall vitality by promoting better circulation, oxygenation of the blood, and efficient functioning of the body's systems.
Adaptability: Pilates exercises can be modified to suit individuals of all fitness levels and abilities, making it accessible to a wide range of people, including seniors, pregnant women, and those recovering from injury.
Overall, Pilates offers a holistic approach to fitness and well-being, providing numerous physical and mental benefits that contribute to a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
“I work out and lift weights regularly, but Katie’s workout found muscles on my body I didn’t know I had. Her workouts had me focused on functional strength and mobility that serves me in ordinary everyday movements as well as improves my other types of workouts at the gym. Some of the movements she put me through stretched my muscles and created space that increased my flexibility while simultaneously strengthening my core.”

“As I age, I notice how much better I feel when I incorporate Pilates and Reformer into my workout routine. However, I am not a fan of pricey, crowded and impersonal Pilates studios. That is why Katie and Knockout Pilates are a perfect fit for me! Katie is always prepared for our sessions and ensures that I am as comfortable as possible. She is knowledgeable, kind and engaging. I appreciate the cozy setting and the one-on-one focus. I love her reformer workouts and love Katie. Highly recommend!”

“I was very hesitant to try Pilates, it is not for men I thought, but I hurt my back and my wife kept insisting I try Pilates. I finally went with her for a trial session with Katie and I loved it! I was surprised how much it challenged me, but Katie worked through each move with me and was very patient. Now my wife and I go together every week and it has become a date night for us as well.”
